Chairman for Africa

Mussie Hailu of Ethiopia, an African Peace activist, is appointed as Chairman of The African Diaspora Foundation.

Among his many accomplishments and service to humanity, Mussie represents several international organisations: Representative of world Federation of United Nations Associations to the Economic Commission of Africa (ECA) and African Union (AU),Pioneer of The Council of Former African Heads of States for Peace, Reconciliation and Development, Lifetime Deputy Governor of the American Biographical Research Institute, Good will Ambassador of Burundi, Vice Chairperson of United Religions Initiative, Peace Representative of the World Peace Society, Chairman of Haile Selassie Aid Ethiopia, Special Adviser to Africa for World Peace and Love Federation, Country Director of HOPE'87 an international organisation which works to alleviate unemployment problem, Special emissary to his Majesty King Kigeli V of Rwanda, Patron of United World College National committee of Ethiopia, Board Chair of Interfaith Peace-Building Initiative, Representative of World Citizen Association for Africa and Ambassador of Peace.

He is elected fellow of the International Biographical Association by unanimous decision of the board sitting at Cambridge, England and accorded the title FIBA. For his achievements and services in many areas, he also received numerous awards, medals and Certificate of Merits from many organisation including United Nations.

He was also given the twenty-first century achievement award for his career achievements and social contribution, which was selected for permanent documentation in 500 leaders of influence designed for biographical reference and inspiration for present-day citizens of the twenty-first century, as well as future generation. His biography is on permanent record at the U.S. Library of Congress Washington, D.C. His promotion of tolerance, culture of peace, global citizenship, a spirit of cooperation, Interfaith harmony and dialogue and promoting volunteerism has won him international acclaim.

Hon. Mussie has played a pivotal role in bringing the Africa agenda at international level and also campaigned tirelessly to make sure that resolutions and declarations passed by international meetings are in the interest of all African countries. Six years a go he was advocating for the reform of the United Nations Security Council to give two permanent site to Africa with veto power which now become a big issue in Africa and at the United Nations.

He wrote several articles on different global issues and pioneered a number of goodwill initiatives. He has also travel extensively to most part of the world addressing the issue of Culture of peace, Reconciliation, Right human relationship, Interfaith harmony, the eradication of poverty, environmental protection and on other similar issues. He was the engine for the peace monument, which is erected at the Organisation of African Unity (OAU).

African Diaspora Foundation acknowledge his outstanding contribution to Africa and proud to have him as Chairman of the Foundation.
