--ADF Inauguration--
The ADF Inauguration was held in Memphis, Tennessee. The event was held
at the historic IVY with great food, live music and presentations
by ADF president Agrippa O. Ezozo, Consul Nontshukumo B. Phama of
the South African
Consulate-General
(Los Angeles, CA), ADF vice president Itibari M. Zulu, and ADF executive
committee members Shaibu O. Obakhume, Robert Laurent, Patrick Ayota,
and Kiri Maponya. ADF had an opportunity to meet the district director
for
Congress member Harold E. Ford, Jr. Mr. Clay A. Perry who liked our
proposal and said he will notify the congressman of our need to meet
him. The delegation
had a grand tour of the city and historic sites via Mr. Davis and
his son Julian with a rewarding stop at the National Civil Rights
Museum. Other
business included a meeting at the Davis residence we discussed contacting
foundations and corporate contacts to address funding our December
event, the UCLA Mendela project and an ADF endowment with assistance
of a consultant
(Denise), and a short ad hoc meeting at the hotel about ADF role
in the KJLH South Africa visit in March 2002.
